It would appear I have finally found that elusive blog of which you so often spake.
I hope Chicago is faring well (which I ought to have said when last we spoke,) yet I was under the impression you were residing there for two weeks rather than six. Nevertheless, you have my love and all that entails.
P.S. That "Under Going" piece was/is much to my liking.
Through my practice I examine the fuzzy borderlines between 'experience' and its 'record'. As we all know when we document or record wn event we of course change its meaning, like the story of a holiday told to a friend, once its told and out there that experience has changed forever. And so I would say that the main aim of my practice is to provide a frame for my experiences as a means to examine the act of telling them.
My work often draws upon the symbolic qualities of objects as a means of narrating experience. The reason I employ objects in this way is because objects, unlike people, are endowed with a specific function in the world and so work better as a symbol. People on the other hand, are continually seeking out their own personal function or purpose. It is in this way that through object collages I seek to narrate a self portraite of who I might have been at that specific moment in time.
